Compressed sensing for privacy-preserving data processing

Today more and more information is gathered by sensors with strict limitations on power consumption and computations, like IoT devices or Earth observation sensors.

Securing this information using conventional cryptography is often impossible.

Compressed sensing is an established signal acquisition technique that is well-suited for low power devices and, interestingly, also provides secrecy features.

Our group is a leading expert in the analysis of compressed sensing as a lightweight cryptosystem and privacy-preserving layer. This technique can efficiently protect data acquired by low power sensors, enabling privacy-preserving inference on those data.
