Alessandro Balossino è il responsabile dell'unità di ricerca e sviluppo di Argotec, PMI torinese attiva nello sviluppo di microsatelliti ad alte prestazioni e nei servizi per il volo umano spaziale.
In qualità del suo ruolo coordina lo sviluppo di sistemi avionici e nuove tecnologie spaziali a basso TRL, la definizione della roadmap tecnologica dell'azienda, l'identificazione dei partner tecnologici e delle opportunità per la ricerca finanziata.
Prima del ruolo corrente in Argotec, Alessandro si è occupato di sistemi di sistemi per Entry, Descent and Landing, robotica mobile e sensoristica per applicazioni in ambito spazio e difesa.

Simona Bruni received the Laurea degree in telecommunication engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electromagnetics from the University of Siena, Siena, Italy, in 2002 and 2006, respectively.
She worked as a Researcher at the Defense, Security and Safety Institute, Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO).
From 2007 to 2013, she worked as a Research and Development Antenna Engineer with the Calearo Advanced Technology (CAT) Department, Calearo SPA, Vicenza, Italy.
Since 2013, she has been with the Antennas and EM Modeling Group, IMST GmbH, Kamp-Lintfort, Germany, where she works as a Research and Development Antenna Engineer at the Antenna Front-End Team.

Dal 2018 Piero è B.S.I. Tutor e Part Time Lecturer presso il Politecnico di Torino, dove eroga formazione in ambito Dispositivi Medici.

Davide Cuda - Google
Davide Cuda graduated from the Politecnico di Torino with 110/110 summa cum laude degree in Telecommunication Engineering in November 2005. In January 2009 he obtained his Ph.D. degree at Politecnico di Torino on resource allocation and fairness schemes in all optical networks and switching architectures. During his Ph. D., he spent an extensive stay at University of California, Davis.
From January 2010 to March 2011 he held a Post Doc position at the Italian National Research Council focusing his research on energy-efficient design of backbone networks and high-capacity switching architectures.
From March 2011 until March 2012 he worked as research engineer at Orange Labs R&D designing all future core networks and datacenter architectures. Davide Cuda is currently a research engineer at Telecom PariTech working on high-capacity scheduling algorithms. He was actively involved and managed several National and European research projects.
In November 2012, he joined Cisco System in Switzerland to work on as a software engineer on IOS platform. He actively contributed on the Medianet Cisco feature and actively proposed new network solutions exploiting SDN technologies (OpenFlow, OnePK, opendaylight controller).
Davide Cuda is currently at Google working as a software reliability engineer.

Davide Daprà - Vishay
He graduated in June 2003 with a Master’s degree in Electronics from Politecnico di Torino. Between 2003 and 2010, he served as a teaching assistant in courses on electronics and power electronics, while also working as a freelance electronic designer and system engineer from 1992 to 2010.
In May 2010, he joined the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on electronic and microelectronic design for nanotechnology applications in space and avionics systems.
Since September 2011, he has been with Vishay Semiconduttori Italiana S.p.A., where he currently serves as Director of the ALPS Application Laboratory and the E-Mobility Team. In this role, he is responsible for the definition and characterization of silicon and silicon carbide diode and MOSFET platforms, as well as the design and testing of new custom power modules. He supports customers in new designs, field applications, failure analysis, and optimization, and oversees special testing for automotive production.
His activities also include benchmarking wide-bandgap devices, developing new platforms for advanced applications, and contributing to SPICE simulation and modeling—particularly through the creation and maintenance of LTspice libraries. He authors application notes and manuals on power semiconductors and designs advanced test systems for the characterization and modeling of high-voltage, high-speed devices.

Enrico Ghillino is the technical lead on photonic circuit modeling and simulation of Synopsys Photonic Solutions. Luca Maria Lachello - COMAU
In COMAU SpA since 1989, he spent 26 years in the Robotics Business Unit where the main results were the conception of the fifth generation of Comau robot control units, the introduction of a new RealTime operating system and the adoption of Quaternions for robot spatial rotations.
In collaboration with POLITO, in the RoboLab hosted in COMAU, he led the development of a Robot Trajectory Planner capable of making the most of the mechanical and electrical characteristics of the robots and of an innovative iterative inverse kinematics algorithm. He recently led the COMAU Digital Factory, an international team of over 30 engineers that develops the COMAU IIoT platform according to the AGILE methodology.
He currently manages the Digital and Software area at COMAU's e-Mobility Global Competence Center.

Toktam Mahmoodi [S’06, M’09, SM’16] is a Professor of Communication Engineering and a member of the Centre for Telecommunications Research (CTR), in the Department of Engineering at King’s College London. She served as the director of CTR between 2018 and 2025, and has hold several advisory and industry positions, with Transport for London (TfL), F5 Networks, and Siemens. Toktam has been chair and vice-chair of IEEE WICE, 2024-2025, 2023-2024, and vice-chair of IEEE ComSoc Aerial Communication Emerging Tech initiative. Her research focuses on the areas of mobile and cloud networking, and includes network intelligence, edge learning and networking, ultra-low latency networking, and network modelling and optimization. She has contributed to the ETSI, IETF and 3GPP standards, and has played an active role within 5GPPP in defining 5G vision for vertical industries. She has also served on number of editorial boards including the executive editor of ETT, guest editor of JSAC series on network softwarization, area editor of IEEE Communications Standard Magazine on management & orchestration, and editor of IEEE communication letters. Toktam served as technical committee chair and member of various IEEE ComSoc conferences, including ICC, GLOBECOM, PIMRC, WCNC, and ICT.

Advanced CMOS Technology Technical Director and a Fellow of ST Technical Staff
Davide Pandini holds a Laurea Degree (summa cum laude) in Electronics Engineering from the University of Bologna, a PhD in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Padova, and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.
He was a research intern at Philips Research Labs. in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and at Digital Equipment Corp., Western Research Labs. in Palo Alto, CA. He joined STMicroelectronics in Agrate Brianza, Italy, in 1995, where he is an Advanced CMOS Technology Technical Director and a Fellow of ST Technical Staff.
His current research interests include advanced CMOS technologies in 28nm FDSOI and FinFET, power optimization and integrity, reliability, innovative design methodologies for ASIC design, RF design for 5G applications. He was a work-package manager in several funded European Projects. Dr. Pandini has authored and coauthored more than fifty papers in international journals and conference proceedings, and during the academic years from 1998 to 2000, he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Brescia. He served on the program committee of several premiere international conferences, among which DAC, DATE, ICCD, ESSDERC, and EMC-COMPO, and he is a TPC co-chair of ESSDERC/ESSCIR 2022. Dr. Pandini received the ST Corporate STAR 2008 Gold Award for leading the excellence team in EMC-aware design, and the STAR 2020 Gold Award for an innovative design in 7nm FinFET.
Since June 2015, Dr. Pandini is the Chairman of the ST Italy Technical Staff Steering Committee.
Among his other interests, Dr. Pandini is a Certified Financial Technician of IFTA (International Federation of Technical Analysts), holds the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation from the CMT Association, and he is a Professional Member of SIAT (Societa’ Italiana Analisi Tecnica). In 2021 Dr. Pandini was the recipient of the prestigious XII SIAT Technical Analyst Award in the Open category.
He served as Volunteer at Universal Exhibition Expo2015 – Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life - in Milano, Italy.

Dr. Roberto Paoletti received MSc in Electronic Engineering in 1991, and Doctorate in Electronics (PhD) at Polytechnic of Turin, in 1994, dealing with packaging, simulation and characterization of semiconductor lasers. Since 1995 he has worked in several companies (CSELT corporate research center of Telecom Italia, Agilent Technologies, Avago Technologies) for Research & Development of optical components for telecom market. In 2014 he joined Convergent Photonics, heading the semiconductor development group in Torino, dealing with development and production of high power laser systems; since 2023 he is with MBDA Italy. In his career he developed skills of design for manufacturing, engineering and long-term reliability of semiconductor lasers and high power fiber laser. He has been leading R&D projects, and coordinating R&D and Production Teams in global organisations for development and production of photonic devices. He is author and co-author of more than 50 publications on Journals and International Conference Proceedings, a semiconductor laser book and 12 patents.

Chrysa Papagianni - University of Amsterdam
She is an Assistant Professor in the MNS group of the Institute of Informatics at the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on network softwarization and programmability, including software-defined networking, network slicing and orchestration, as well as AI/ML-driven network intelligence and automation for next-generation networks.
She completed her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. Subsequently, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the NETMODE Lab (ECE/NTUA) and later as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Systems Research at the University of Maryland, with a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to joining the University of Amsterdam, she served as a network research engineer at the End-to-End Network Service Automation Lab at Nokia Bell Labs in Belgium.

I am a Chief Expert at Huawei, leading a team of researchers using machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve hard networking problems.
I received my Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from UPMC (2010), my PhD (2005) and MSc (2001) degrees from Politecnico di Torino.
Before joining Huawei in 2018, I occupied a Chair Professor (2016-2018), Full Professor (2012-2016) and Associate Professor (2006-2012) positions at the Computer Science and Networking department of Telecom ParisTech as well as a Full Professor (2012-2019) position at the LIX department of Ecole Polytechnique.
Prior to that, I worked with the Telecommunication Network Group of the Electrical Engineering department at Politecnico di Torino (2001-2006). Between september 2003 and august 2004, I held a Visiting Researcher position in the Computer Science division at University of California, Berkeley.
I am very passionate in my work and always open for new challenges. Currently I put my passion at work on research interests such as Machine learning, Internet traffic measurement, and high speed all-sofware networking. Formerly I also worked on congestion control, Information centric networks, green networking, peer-2-peer networks, traffic engineering vehicular networks. To summarize my achievements in these last few years, I have coauthored 15+ patents and 200+ papers in leading conferences (including IEEE INFOCOM, ACM SIGCOMM, ACM CoNEXT and ACM IMC) and journals (including IEEE JSAC, ACM/IEEE TON, ACM CCR, IEEE TMM).

Sabina Spiga - CNR
Sabina Spiga received the Degree in Physics from the Università di Bologna in 1995 and the PhD in Material Science in 2002 from Università di Milano. She is staff researcher at CNR-IMM–Unit of Agrate Brianza (Italy) since 2004, and she is currently leading a research team developing oxide-based resistive switching non-volatile memories and memristive devices for neuromorphic systems. She is currently principal Investigator for CNR of the project European project-Horizo2020 NeuRAM3-NEUral computing aRchitectures in Advanced Monolithic 3D-VLSI nano-technologies; and since 2014 she is also member of the Management Committee for Italy of the COST Action ICT 1401-“Memristors-Devices, Models, Circuits, Systems and Applications. S. Spiga is co-author of more than 100 publications on peer reviewed journals and proceedings. She co-organized several symposia and workshops and national and international level, and in 2013/2014 she participated to the IEDM Memory Technology subcommittee.

Andrea Vitali - ST Microelectronics
Prototyping, test and industrialization of reference designs and sensor platforms. Sensor DSP and algorithm design, software models and hardware implementation, for key customers in the Bay Area (FAANG). Coordinating development activities with product divisions (MEMS, Microcontrollers, Power), central labs (Development, R&D), and regional organization (America region, Support and Marketing). Andrea Vitali joined STMicroelectronics in 2000 as part of the system R&D team.
Currently, Vitali is driving marketing and support local customers in the field of MEMS sensors and Internet of Things. From 2008 to 2012 he worked in the field of bioelectronics/biomedical field, exploiting micro-electro-mechanical-silicon sensors, designing wearable electronics to detect biologic signals and developing algorithms to extract significant biological parameters. Prior to that, he worked on image compression, video coding, robust source and joint source/channel coding, adaptive multimedia play-out, metadata for multimedia signals, graphical interfaces.
Training and teaching has been important for Vitali. From 2004-2012 he was professor at Bergamo University, teaching MicroElectronics and from 2007-2010 he was also a professor at the University of Milan teaching MultiMedia Information Coding.
Mr. Vitali holds a Masters in Electronics Engineering at Polytechnic of Milan in 1998. He has published several papers and holds several patents granted in Europe and the United States.

Luca Zai - Titolo personale, ex ELDOR
Luca Zai is an independent executive advisor in the field of e-Mobility and innovation. He delivers in strategic and operational areas of high impact for international clients, from business development to product engineering and technological pipeline.
His experience encompasses a wide portfolio of E-Mobility solutions from early stage ideation, from business and technical perspective, to the start of development for mass production. Luca established and supervised several research programs in electric motors, power electronics and controls with a high degree of innovative content and conversion to proven applications.
He ideated and developed novel archetypes for e-powertrain systems and components. Co-inventor of 14 patent families in the field. In his career in the automotive industry Luca held roles of increasing responsibility with leading consulting and manufacturing corporations, up to the position of Chief Technology Officer, working on a range of vehicle systems and components in liaison with OEMs and first-tier suppliers worldwide.
His expertise developed particularly in the areas of systems engineering, electric-hybrid vehicles and technology & strategic management. Luca holds an MSc in Automotive Engineering from Politecnico di Torino and an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School.
