Precision Mechanics Laboratory (PreMeLab)

The Precision Mechanics Laboratory was established to support department staff in experimental scientific research involving mechanical processing. The laboratory is equipped with machinery for precision machining of metallic materials, particularly aluminum alloys, brass, and other non-ferrous materials. By using CAM software, it enables the transition from 3D design to automated milling processes (3-axis).

The available services are;
The services are intended for internal department staff for research purposes. The appropriate raw material and the necessary tools (if not already available) must be provided by the applicant.  

• 3-axis metal milling
• Sheet metal cutting and bending (up to 1000x1000mm)
• Metal profile cutting
• Basic mechanical machining (drilling, tapping, etc.)

Usage modality
The machining operations must be arranged with the laboratory technical staff by sending an email to the address det.premelab@polito.it.
