Dissemination of frequency standard by optical fiber link

The activity, in collaboration with INRiM, concerns the creation of a fiber optic network dedicated to the dissemination of frequency standard. In recent years it has been possible to reach the LENS laboratory in Florence using a dedicated fiber and a dozen amplification stations along the Turin-Milan-Bologna-Florence fiber path. The next objective is to reach the Galileo Precise Facility in the Fucino plain and the Geodesy station in Matera. The latter will be synchronizable withthe laboratory of Medicine (Bo) already achieved by the optical carrier referred to the primary frequency sample. In this way it will be possible to obtain an improvement in the performances of the two geodesy stations dedicated to the VLBI technique.
