IROS2021 Best Paper Award on Agri-Robotics

Researchers Diego Aghi, Simone Cerrato, Vittorio Mazzia, and Marcello Chiaberge of the interdepartmental center for service robotics, PIC4SeR (www.pic4ser.polito.it), received the best paper award on Agri-Robotics at the 2021 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems.

They presented their work with an article entitled "Deep Semantic Segmentation at the Edge for Autonomous Navigation in Vineyard Rows" (https://arxiv.org/pdf/2107.00700.pdf).
The research proposes a novel control that leverages the latest advancements in machine perception and edge AI techniques to achieve highly affordable and reliable navigation inside vineyard rows with low computational and power consumption.
