Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Passive and Active Integrated Optical Devices
This activity has a threefold aim:
- To design integrated optical components (IOC) in innovative substrates and develop simulation methods; past results include the realization of one of first user-friendly tools for the simulation of complex IOC.
- To develop characterization procedures for optical components, participating to the activities promoted by the IEC SC86B and SC86C Committees, such as international round-robins.
- To characterize the innovative materials for fibre and integrated optical applications developed in the framework of a long-standing cooperation with the Dept. of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering of Politecnico di Torino; most recent results include nano-particles doped active and passive glasses.
