Control by design of microcontroller electromagnetic emissions
The research activity is aimed to investigate solutions to control electromagnetic emissions (EME) generated by the activity of a microcontroller. The continuous development of submicron CMOS technology processes has made possible the design and fabrication of high-speed digital systems, which include huge digital core and an always rising number of high speed input/output ports (I/Os).
As a consequence, a proper design of on-chip power supply networks that provide electric energy to building blocks is mandatory. Although several researches have been performed and several design rules are currently available, further insights on this topic are required.
