Artificial neural networks, data mining, soft computing
Since 1987 Prof. Pasero was involved in both theoretical and hardware aspects of Artificial Neural Systems. In 1990 together other italian scientists he founded SIREN, the italian society for neural networks. In 1991 he deposited in USA, together with Texas Instruments, two patents concerning the first silicon italian artificial neuron and synapsis.
Today activities mainly deal with the simulation of ANS in industrial applications. Using software tools we can approach problems where mathematical models are not well established. Character recognition, meteorological forecast, pollution forecast, control evaluation are some typical cases where ANS give an efficient performance versus complex analytical models.
