Measurement systems for lyophilization processes monitoring

Lyophilization is a drying method widely employed to preserve substances, such as food and drugs, that are sensitive to heat.

The research in this field is carried out in cooperation with the Materials Science and Chemical Engineering Department of the Politecnico di Torino and it is devoted to the design and to the development of instruments for the monitoring of lyophilization processes.

During this activity has been arranged an innovative analytical balance, which is designed to work in vacuum conditions and to measure mass and temperature of small containers such as vials, and a modular multi-point thermometer able to work in vacuum without any battery.
