Fibre Lasers

This research aims at the development of innovative technologies for the fabrication of compact nano-structured fibre lasers, with scalable output power and characteristics suitable for a broad range of industrial applications going from micro/nano-machining to marking and to cutting and welding.

Traditional laser machining employs gas or solid state lasers, but fibre lasers are acquiring evermore relevant shares thanks to their many advantages, and in particular to their superior efficiency. This activity is carried out in cooperation with two Italian industries, working in industrial laser applications and leader in their respective markets.
