Accuracy evaluation of a new atomic frequency standard with cold atoms of Yb

The activity, in collaboration with INRiM, aim to complete the evaluation of the new atomic frequency standard using cold atoms of Yb. This optical standard will reach, over the next few years, an accuracy of at least an order of magnitude better than the Cs fountain standard. The Yb based standard will also be a new way for the redefinition of the Second.
